Synopsis
Amara’s dreams are shattered when she discovers that she’s surrounded by lies. As her world crumbles, she must decide what to do to survive and who, if anyone, to trust. Unexpected events thrown into the mix make matters worse, and there’s no end in sight. Will the path that Amara ultimately takes help to reveal her true self, or will it cause more pain?

Excerpt
Shocked and frozen, I stared at her as she rocked back and forth with her eyes closed and her head slightly tilted backwards. At first, I couldn’t understand what I was witnessing but then I soon realized that there were two feet, one on each side of her.
“Oh no! I walked in on Amara’s parents...”
I thought as my mind wandered off. I soon realized that I had loosened my grip on the money when I heard a thud and looked down to see the pouch by my feet. As I picked it up, there was a loud gasp that caused me to refocus and raise my head to see Amara’s mother looking at me in shock.
